All You Need is Love and Ice Cream: Lauren and Ryan’s Beaver Creek, CO Wedding

If you are a fan of our blog or our social media, then this quote probably sounds familiar. Bottom line, these are just great words to live by in our opinion. And, as you can imagine the couple behind the sign, endorsing this mantra is pretty special, too. We shared a little bit of Lauren and Ryan’s story in our Year and Review blog post in November, but today we are going behind the scenes to take a closer look at the perseverance, creativity, and adaptability it took to be a 2020 COVID couple.

Beaver Creek wedding ceremony

Lauren and Ryan were one of many couples whose plan A, B, and C fell through due to the pandemic. One of the biggest hurdles they encountered was needing to find a brand new venue within months of the big day. Refusing to give up hope, the Colorado Tents & Events team was able to connect them with the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch who would serve as the new home for their wedding!

Another challenge the couple had to face was downsizing. Pre-pandemic, they had already settled on a much more casual, cocktail style reception which ended up being the perfect format for the new era to come. That said, they knew that moving forward with their original date, meant having to make some tough choices when it came to the guest list and the safety of the guests who would be attending. Pioneering this new COVID wedding landscape, Lauren, Ryan, and Wanda set the bar for cute, functional, and compliant party favors.

For the ceremony, the couple rented a few simple, round cocktail tables and these fun and elegant specialty linens for their welcome tables. Some of the party favors included personalized masks and hand sanitizers and Lauren and Ryan were the first of our couples to introduce the super creative color bracelet system to accommodate the feelings and needs of each of their guests.

For the reception, Colorado Tents & Events set-up a clear NaviTrac tent outfitted with festival lights on the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch’s grand lawn. The couple opted for a mix of seated and standing cocktail tables paired with pastel specialty linens to create the casual yet upscale vibe. Throughout the event, the couple kept all of the tent sidewalls open to maintain an open-air and safely distanced environment. The birch dance floor served as the centerpiece of the tent which served as the perfect area where folks could gather comfortably to dance and say hello to the remote guests tuning via the mounted TV!

All in all, we commend Lauren and Ryan’s patience, flexibility and consideration for their loved ones. The couples of 2020 were truly pioneers of an unprecedented time whose creativity and love set the gold standard for future events to come!
