Picking A Wedding Tent For Your Colorado Mountain Wedding

There are a lot of options to consider when choosing a wedding tent. At Colorado Tents & Events, we pride ourselves in our knowledge of the mountain terrain, unpredictable weather and tenting needs in such a unique environment. Today, we are discussing some of your options for your Colorado tented wedding.

Before you decide which tent style is best for you, you will need to know where the tent is going and  whether you can stake into the ground at the location or if it needs to use weighted ballasting. Certain tents, like pole tents, can only be staked. Once you have your location picked, it is time to decide what style of tent you like most and any upgrades you will be wanting.

Marquee Tents

Marquee tents, also known as Century tents, have dramatic, high peaks and are clear along the ground. These tents have a cross cable and pole going up to the top, instead of a frame. These tents can be pieced together or combined with a frame tent. They are great for smaller events, catering tents or buffet tents.

Pole Tents

Pole tents give any event a “wow factor” with their high peaks and overall size. As the name suggests, these tents have poles from the ground all the way to the top of each peak. The poles create a beautiful mountain-like silhouette. If you choose a pole tent for your event, you will need to note the location of each pole when planning the location of a dance floor, stage and seating.

Sailcloth Tents

Our Aurora sailcloth tent is a type of pole tent, but with beautiful wood poles and a sheer top. We know that the weather can be unpredictable in the mountains, which is why we have clear sidewalls specifically designed for our sailcloth tent.

Frame Tents

Frame tents, also known as clear span tents, are our most popular tent. These tents are great for large events and are completely open inside, leaving maximum room for guests and decor. Frame tents are held up by a metal frame, rather than poles.

Clear Top Tents

Clear tops are one of our favorite tent upgrades. A clear top tent allows you to be protected from the elements, while still experiencing the beautiful outdoors. Let’s be honest, the best part about a tented mountain wedding or event is having it outdoors! Frame tents and marquee tents can be upgraded to clear tops and clear sidewalls.

Wedding Draping & Fabric Liners

Another great tent upgrade is sheer draping or a fabric liner. Draping and fabric liners add an elegant feel for the tent. Lighting can be placed behind the fabric to create a beautiful glow. They are great for frame tents if you are wanting to hide the metal framing.
