Mallory & Dan’s Elegant Windy Point Campground Wedding

Mallory and Dan came to us with a unique vision. This outdoorsy couple wanted to transform one of their favorite mountain spots into a more elegant wedding venue. The location is a popular one up here in Summit County, called Windy Point Campground. Aside from its many campsites, Windy Point has a wooden pavilion that attracts couples near and far with its surrounding mountain and lakefront views and affordable pricing. The overall accommodations, though, are basic because it is after all a campground. Today, we are going to break down how we helped this couple flip a campground into a beautiful and accommodating wedding venue that everyone on the guest list could enjoy!

Staying true to their passion of exploring the outdoors, Mallory and Dan decided to forgo the more popular and accessible beachfront ceremony site, and set-up up at the lesser known hill-top location; a clearing located at the top of one of the nearby trails. Disclaimer: this is not a location that our team will deliver to, so the couple and a hearty group of friends were responsible for bringing our farm benches to and from the site. This little extra bit of elbow grease certainly did not disappoint, though. 

Mallory and Dan were very mindful of their guests’ needs, being that many were traveling from across the country and from lower elevations. To ensure that their guests remained comfortable and safe on the hike to and from the ceremony spot, they created a hydration and oxygenation station out of one of our sweetheart farm tables! A sweet and super smart touch up here at 9,000 feet!

The reception was held back down at the Windy Point Pavilion. Standing at a little over 2,000 square feet, the space comfortably accommodated seating for their party of 120, space for dancing, a cake table, a sweetheart table, and DJ booth. Here the couple moved out the standard picnic tables that come with the pavilion reservation, and brought in our custom farm tables and x-back chairs for all of the guest seating.

Finer accents were tastefully incorporated throughout the space like our ivory, linen loveseat for the sweetheart table, specialty linens to cover the fixed tables in front of the pavilion, and a whiskey barrel table for the cake display.

We had so much fun helping transform this local staple into Mallory and Dan’s dream venue and we look forward to continuing to get creative at this location!
