Who and Where is Camp Hale?

Camp Hale has a deep and rich history dating back to the 1940s. Its roots are actually military based. Because of the location’s diverse terrain located in the White River National Forest, the space lent itself well as a World War II military winter and warfare training camp. Nowadays, privately owned, Camp Hale has transformed into a year-round outdoor activity hub offering a variety of guided tours and for our purposes a stunning Colorado wedding venue!

Camp Hale is located in the Pando Valley about a 15 minute drive from Vail, Colorado. The location boasts both mountain and waterfront views!

What makes Camp Hale a great Colorado wedding venue?

Aside from the incredible natural surroundings? It is secluded which makes for total and uninterrupted bliss on your big day.

There are also three main locations available to clients on the property that can accommodate groups of up to 250 : the ceremony island, the lodge, and the tent. 

Ceremony Island

Accessible via a quaint wooden bridge, the ceremony island is quite literally an island surrounded by panoramic water and mountain views. Wooden benches are provided on-site for guest seating as well as an arbor and wireless PA system.

The Lodge

Comfy and rustic, the Lodge is home to the venue’s restaurant, McAllister’s Grill. Perfect for smaller wedding receptions or a rehearsal dinner, the Lodge offers great dining and intimate gathering accommodations.

The Tent

Arguably the main attraction aside from the beautiful landscape, of course. Camp Hale comes complete with a 40 x 80 tent on the property. The tent includes wood-stamped concrete flooring and a full ceiling white tent lining. The tent comes pre-equipped with an assortment of banquet tables, farm tables, cocktail barrels, and wooden x-back chairs for clients to use. From a rental perspective, however, clients come to us for more specific needs.

We often provide larger necessities such as dance floors and stages, and high end decor such as our popular full twinkle light package, lounge furniture, champagne walls, and specialty tableware and linens. Although the venue can accommodate up to 250 guests, the tent size as is cannot.

For larger groups that require more space, we are often called in to provide a tent extension.

When to have your Camp Hale wedding?

This is a year-round venue, but the tent is only available during peak season due to weather.
