Kate & James’ Intimate Granby Colorado Wedding

As much as we love our wedding venues, there are many other amazing properties that we have the opportunity to service whether they are short term rentals or private residences. Kate and James, for example, tied the knot at an adorable private lodge with a gorgeous backyard in their family’s neighborhood. Let’s take a closer look at this Granby wedding!

Kate and James opted for a laid back celebration with close family and friends. As with many of our couples, it was important for them to spend the majority of their time outdoors. 

The ceremony was casual and intimate and on the banks of the nearby lake. The couple chose our comfy, contoured, white garden resin folding chairs for optional ceremony seating and provided guests with our hand held, white golf style umbrellas for shelter from our infamous, rolling afternoon showers. While we didn’t provide the blankets for the kiddos’ seating, we think it was a super cute idea and a unique touch!

After the ceremony, guests headed up to the lodge that overlooked the lake for a backyard reception! Wanting to maintain that casual feel throughout the day, we provided the couple with one of our century tents. Kate and James chose to do without the tent sidewalls to create an uninterrupted flow where their guests were able to mingle and meander freely through the entire outdoor space, while still providing overhead shelter for the main dining area. 

The overall look and feel of the reception space was “rustic traditional.” Pulling from the earthy and mountain vibes of the lodge and surrounding scenery, Kate and James selected our mahogany wooden folding chairs for guest seating, and our wood slice chargers and black miner’s lanterns for the table scapes in the tent. And, on the porch, our whiskey barrel bar was a fun and essential party favor. The complimentary more traditional decor notes were found in the crisp white tablecloths, our hammered tall bar glassware, and the twinkly festival light package. 

All in all, we think Kate and James’ Granby wedding struck the perfect balance between comfort, style, and fun!
