About Us

Colorado Tents & Events has been creating memorable events in the central Colorado Mountains since 1999.  Service areas include Summit County, Steamboat Springs, Vail Valley, Winter Park, Roaring Fork Valley and surrounding areas. Our team’s longtime local experience has enabled us to build quality relationships with countless venues and vendors, creating an expansive vendor network. Our staff are experts on our local venues, which will ensure you have the accurate equipment needed to create a seamless event.

We are also deeply involved in our local communities. Colorado Tents & Events takes pride in being the event rental company of choice for so many great local events including the Colorado Classic, Winter Dew Tour, Frisco BBQ Challenge, Breckenridge Oktoberfest and many more.

We are experts who understand the challenges of mountain tenting and offer products and solutions that are engineered to be safe, stylish and functional in our unique climate. Our local crews are able to assist with troubleshooting and can be on-site to help anywhere in Summit County in short notice for emergencies.

While we are happy to offer an expansive inventory of tent and party rentals for you to choose from, we are truly excited about our growing list of unique, custom and in-house built offerings. Check out our rustic barn wood decor walls and Edison bulb chandeliers to see examples of what we can create. Our talented team is excited to hear your ideas for any unique products that you would like to see at your event!

Our sales consultants work daily with industry experts from both the wedding and corporate events industries and also love to provide guidance for individuals looking for a place to begin. We are not just another vendor on your list of people to call. We’re your idea factory. Your sounding board. Your partner in parties. With over 50 years combined experience in the event industry, our trustworthy team is here to help you create an event that is truly elevated.

Meet The Team

Mark returns to the Colorado Mountains and brings his diverse background in Food and Beverage, Hospitality, Catering and Events to CTE.  Mark is implementing a new vision and strategy for CTE’s growth, service, and products.  He believes in his team members, loves to see people grow and succeed, and promotes an open and supportive culture.  Mark enjoys building unique new products and working on custom jobs and tells customers “tell me what you want, we can do it”.  When not at work or with family, Mark can be found in the forest, riding the high country single-track!

Steve Giles, Director of Operations

Steve is the logistics guru that drives CTE’s Operations.  A native of Boise, Idaho, he has called Summit County home for 8 years.  He previously lived in Boston for 11 years working in orchestra operations.  He has a great deal of skills in managing staff and logistics for events large and small, so you know your event will be in good hands!  While not at work you will find Steve spending as much of his free time as possible rock climbing.

Emily Smart, Director of Sales

Emily has been in the events industry for more than 10 years and brings a unique dynamic and experience to our team.  When away from the office, you’ll catch Emily enjoying the beautiful outdoors and Colorado lifestyle with her family and their Great Pyrenees, Bodhi!  We know you will enjoy working with Emily for her attention to detail and her well-rounded knowledge of the events industry and personal touch that draws clients to her and keeps them coming back!

Katelyn Huston, Sales & Event Manager

Katelyn uses her 10 years of event experience and local knowledge to help her clients realize the true potential of their event.  She brings a calm and collected demeanor that keeps people feeling confident and at ease.  She has experience with all sorts of events, large and small, in NH, MA, MN, and CO.  She loves spending free time outside with her twin boys and is lucky to be able to live in the mountains and enjoy the lifestyle.  Her sidekick, Maggie, is the shop dog and is regularly seen playing fetch in the parking lot and not letting anyone pet her.
